Coronavirus Precautions

During the current Covid-19 epidemic, The Besom in Ashtead, Leatherhead and Epsom is operating on a reduced volunteer team as many of our volunteers have had to self-isolate. We do, however, want to continue to help those in need as our resources and government guidelines allow. Below are some brief guidelines on our current operations:

What we can do currently

We are able to respond to requests for furniture and household items. We will always endeavour to help but will, on a case by case basis, assess our ability to respond in the light of government guidelines.

Due to our ongoing support to our clients with household goods, we need to refresh our supplies so are still receiving and collecting some donations of furniture and household goods.

Which services are currently suspended

In general, we are unable to assist with decorating, DIY or gardening projects at the current time. However, we may be able to assist with small jobs if someone has a particular need. Key workers, please call us if you would like to discuss a particular need.

Protocols

Besom will follow government guidelines and best practise when visiting clients or picking up furniture. In particular:

Please  assist us in keeping a 2m distance during visits. We may ask you and your family to stay in another room while we deliver furniture or install white goods.

Please advise us if you anyone in the house we will be visiting has been or is currently infected with Covid-19. We will not be able to enter homes where there is a current infection.

If we are picking up donated household goods we will also need to ask some further questions before collection.
